Just published. The great day just got better.
So race day has come and gone and the outcome was better than I could ever have expected. With the goal of 2014 being get into the 13 second bracket the 2nd run of the day saw just that with a 13.98 and the biggest woop from me as i came out of the timing office. Everyone in the class was giving out well done pats on the back but the day just got better. With extra piont up for grabs for best reaction time i firstly nailed a .05 then next time round a .03 all on the pro tree. With one more run to go it was an all out attack> Everything felt really good off the line and the gear changes were spot on the shift light. I was through the top end and all was good so as I drove back to the timing office i was hoping to back up the 13.98. I almost fell over when i saw the numbers. I had not only backed up the time i smashed it with a 13.35. What an awesome day.
A big thanks to everyone that is supporting me through the 2014 season and round 3 will hopefully be as good.
It has been a long time coming but tomorrow is the start of the 2014 season as round 1 was called of due to bad weather. Like many racing teams I have been keeping a keen eye on the weather forecast over the past few days and it has said something different each day. Today however it changed once again but for the better. Overcast but dry all day so nice cold temps for the intake but cold for the track surface but with treaded tyres I should be ok. After a day of prepping the car it seams to have dragged on and with the battery staying on charge for as long as possible it just leaves me to get my helmet, gloves, boots and race suit packed and its off for an early night. Will try and post my times tomorrow evening.
We the season has officially started but thanks to the British weather round one was rained off so no racing. It was a bit of a bummer as all the off season work had been carried out and went right down to 2 days before I was due out on track. Big thanks to Dave and the guys at http://www.dsautomotives.co.uk/ for putting in all the hard work and to http://www.hughberryvehicles.com for all of there support.
So the car is back under cover until round 2 at the end of feb. Fingers crossed it will be a nice dry day. Ha yea right.
